Gender & Politics Lab

Bittner directs the Gender & Politics Laboratory in the Department of Political Science at Memorial University, with research, teaching, and mentorship activities tied to the lab.

The lab’s research activity to date incorporates comparative research on women’s participation in formal politics, the role of gender in political attitudes and the measurement of gender in survey research, and the role of motherhood (and parenthood) in politics.

Students interested in joining the lab to work on research related to gender and politics (at both undergraduate and graduate levels) should get in touch with Dr. Bittner. Instructions for how to apply can be found here.

The gender and politics lab is happy to participate in community projects related to issues of gender and politics. Please contact Dr. Bittner to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
